Manitou Springs is bussling

If you haven't been to historic Manitou Springs, Colorado lately, you're missing out. The streets are bussling with people who are enjoying this historic and eclectic town. Manitou is nestled at the foot of Pikes Peak in Colorado. Just a few streets away from Colorado Springs, this town has a taste and flavor of its own. Almost all buildings in Manitou date back to the late 1800's on the main street. From the old doc's office to the post office, we see a glimpse at the town that was thriving during the gold era. Today Manitou is home to artists and very unique shops carrying items from all over the world you won't find in a mall. Sprinkled around the town are original mineral soda springs still working  and calling you to sample them today. The Ute Indians believed these springs had healing powers. Discovery Tours offers a city tour of Manitou and all it has to offer every Sunday afternoon for only $44.99 and other times by reservation. So give us a shout today and we'll ensure you enjoy this experience! 719.290.6848

Pikes Peak

Today's van tour up Pikes Peak was amazing. We had perfect weather! Thankfully. Not a cloud in the sky on a warm summer day in Colorado is living within a postcard. The views up top were sea to shining sea. We enjoyed the famous warm donuts at the summit house with a hot cup of coffee. At the bottom of the mountain, we rested for Colorado Wine tasting and a creekside lunch. The smell of pine trees, wildflowers was in the air and the sound of the running water as we sat by the creek made it too good to leave. In fact, we stayed 30 mins extra.
Next onto Garden of the Gods where we enjoyed a nature walk through the central park area and learned how the rocks were formed, why they are red, and what animals and plant life live around here. Next onto the Authentic Garden of the Gods Trading post. What a place to shop! Even if you hate shopping, this place will intrigue you with it's unique products and gag gifts. Truly something for everyone. And if you really resist the shopping, there's a sitting area to read books and enjoy a cold beer or glass of ice tea.
Lastly, we made our way to Manitou Springs. We just bypassed a bit of rain clouds and avoided a shower. We finally found parking, yes it was a zoo. We then made our way around the eclectic downtown area to find the mineral soda spring fountains and learn about the history of this old gold miner's town. Lastly, we found time to shop the unique stores and sample candy at Patsy's Candy shop -- 107 years old! Some clients even enjoyed ice cream and hot coffee.
Wow what a day! Come join us if it sounds fun. We offer this tour every Sunday!
